Planning to get life insurance
i-MULA 50 is a Starter Pack Insurance Fund (SPIF) programme, initiated by the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM), in collaboration with participating LIAM member companies.
A fund of RM5 million is established to encourage first-time buyers to purchase life insurance protection.
i-MULA 50 offers a subsidy of RM50 for each qualifying life insurance policy to make purchasing insurance more affordable.
Eligible products include simple, affordable, and easy-to-understand insurance plans such as Perlindungan Tenang products, micro/low premium insurance products and customised existing products.
The insurance coverage under i-MULA 50 includes benefits for death, total and permanent disability (TPD), critical illness, medical expenses, and hospital income.
Annual premiums for these subsidised products must fall within the range of RM75, must not exceed RM600 per annum, ensuring affordability.
Policyholders are required to make a minimum initial payment of RM25 to qualify for the RM50 subsidy. This ensures that policyholders fully understand the insurance product they plan to purchase.
Coverage includes essential protections like death, total permanent disability (TPD), critical illness, medical, and hospital income benefits.
