LIAM continued to engage with the young community, an important segment of the population and the next generation of leaders for the nation.

In 2015, LIAM launched the inaugural Youth Video Awards, the largest Inter-University social video production challenge involving 21 local universities in 2015 and 24 local universities in 2016.

The contest which attracted 541 entries in 2015 and 661 in 2016, served to communicate the message of appreciating life by inviting the best young Malaysian producers and talents to produce social videos with positive and entertaining values for their own generation.

With the message that life is precious; along with a campaign mission, “value life, capture life and share life, the Youth Video Awards were held in two consecutive years; 2015 & 2016 and supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).

In 2017, LIAM enhanced the Youth Video Awards to another level to generate greater awareness on the importance of financial planning and protection among the young generation. The #IDAREYOUChallenge2017, kicked off with a grand launch in October 2017 by the Ministry of Education Malaysia at the Asia Pacific University in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

In the #IDAREYOUChallenge2017, students were tasked to develop a creative business plan and produce a video to support the business plan. It attracted over 2,500 Group entries from 20 Universities nationwide. It went through a few stages; from pre-awareness stage via 20 roadshows and 10 classroom engagement sessions to formation of groups; shortlisting the top 30 teams to attend a Bootcamp for a pitch presentation; selection of the best 16 Groups to present at the semi-final stage in preparation for the actual marketing presentation with video shooting and production; and shortlisting the top 10 to compete at the Grand Finale on 3 September 2018.
