Raymond Lew is the Chief Executive Officer & President of Sun Life Malaysia Assurance Berhad.

He also serves as the Country Head of Sun Life Malaysia where he oversees the operation of Sun Life Financial’s businesses in Malaysia. He is also a key member of the Sun Life Asia Executive Committee. 

Raymond joined Sun Life Malaysia as Chief Distribution Officer in 2013, bringing with him a breadth of experience having held various senior management positions with both local and international MNCs and financial institutions.

He is a transformational leader where he pioneered and grew Sun Life Malaysia’s distribution, marketing and analytics operations, drove client experience and digital transformation agenda and most notably, steered the expansion of partnership network, development of Insurance Specialist and other new distribution channels, all of which has led to the impressive business transformation of Sun Life Malaysia.

An accomplished business leader with more than 3 decades of financial experiences, Raymond has been recognised for his extensive knowledge and expertise in areas such as agency development, Bancassurance, alternative distribution, product development, marketing, corporate communication, training, wealth management, and more.

He is passionate in supporting the life insurance industry’s aspirations to grow the insurance penetration rate in Malaysia where he is an active member in various insurance and trade associations. He was the Vice President of the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) in 2021 and has been re-elected to the position for the 2022/2023 term.

Previously, Raymond also served as the EXCO member of National Insurance Association of Malaysia (NIAM), the Chairperson for the industry committees of Bijak Malaysia and Ceria Malaysia and the 2017 – 2018 President of the Malaysia Canada Business Council (MCBC). Raymond holds a Bachelor Degree in Education (Honours) and is also a Fellow of the Malaysian Insurance Institute (FMII).
