Kuala Lumpur, Thursday, 26 March 2015:  The Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) has elected Mr Toi See Jong as its President for the term 2015/2016 at the 41st Annual General Meeting held on 24 March 2015. He is supported by Mr Bill Lisle as the Vice-President who has been reappointed at the Annual General Meeting.

 

Mr Toi succeeds Mr Vincent Kwo, who has held the position of President from 2012 to 2015 and has served the maximum term of three years.

 

Mr Toi See Jong, 57 is the CEO of Tokio Marine Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd. (“TMLM”). He is a qualified actuary from United Kingdom having over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. A well-recognized business leader with a wealth of experience and strong understanding of both the local and overseas markets, Mr Toi charted his career path with the first position based in United Kingdom. He has successfully spearheaded and managed financial organizations in various positions over the years, amongst others include Appointed Actuary and Chief Executive Officer in Malaysia before taking on other senior positions in China, Singapore and Hong Kong.

 

Mr Toi has been instrumental in steering TMLM into the next phase of its corporate development and successfully position it as a leading insurance company reputed for excellent service and products.

 

Meanwhile, LIAM Vice President, Mr Bill Lisle, 50, is the CEO of AIA Malaysia who brings with him over 25 years of experience in the industry. Bill has equipped himself with extensive knowledge holding a variety of senior positions including Managing Director, South Asia for Aviva as well as Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Malaysia and Prudential Korea. He was appointed as the CEO of AIA Malaysia in December 2012 and has led the large-scale and highly complex integration of AIA and ING’s insurance operations resulting in a single license and brand for the new enlarged entity, AIA Bhd – a leading life insurer in Malaysia with total assets worth RM46 billion.
