IN AID OF CANCER RESEARCH IN MALAYSIA - INSURANS HAYAT CARES SUPPORTS TERRY FOX RUN KUALA LUMPUR 2014
390 runners from 11 member companies of LIAM participate in the annual volunteer- driven Run
Kuala Lumpur, 11 November 2014 – The Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM), through its community service platform, Insurans Hayat Cares had participated in the 34th Terry Fox Run held at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur on 2 November 2014. LIAM sent 390 runners from 11 member companies to the 3-kilometre annual volunteer-driven run to raise funds for cancer research.
“This is part of our contribution to the society and is part of the objectives of Insurans Hayat Cares which is to create more awareness on cancer and promote cancer education among the society”, said Vincent Kwo, President of LIAM.
“Cancer has been identified as our main community service project for the next few years and Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation (CARIF) has been chosen as one of the cancer associations that LIAM will collaborate with to meet these objectives,” he added.
CARIF being the beneficiary of the Terry Fox Run received a contribution of RM21,450 from LIAM members via the purchase of T-shirts and merchandise items.
