LIAM elects new vice-president and three new committee members for the term 2014/2015

The Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) has elected Mr. Bill Lisle as its Vice-President at the Management Committee meeting held on 7 January 2015.
 
Mr. Bill Lisle is the Chief Executive Officer of AIA Bhd., a leading life insurer in Malaysia with total assets worth RM42 billion as at end 2013.  Mr Lisle has extensive knowledge of the insurance industry, having spent more than 25 years holding a variety of senior positions including Managing Director, South Asia for Aviva as well as Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Malaysia and Prudential Korea. He played a key role in developing and driving the Group’s Premier Agency and partnership distribution strategies, working closely with the Regional Chief Executives and the Country Chief Executive Officers and their teams in the 16 markets in which AIA has a presence. Mr Lisle is a Permanent Resident of Malaysia, having lived here with his family since 2004.
 
Having led the complex integration of AIA’s businesses in Malaysia in 2013, Mr. Lisle’s key areas of focus include growing and strengthening the company’s three main business lines comprising tied agency, partnership distribution and corporate solutions as well as overseeing the growth and development of AIA’s Takaful business in Malaysia.
 
Meanwhile, LIAM has also appointed the following Chief Executive Officers as the new Management Committee members for the term 2014/2015.
  • Encik Zaharudin bin Daud of Etiqa Insurance Berhad;
  • Mr. Kevin Jones of MCIS Insurance Berhad (formerly known as MCIS Zurich Insurance Berhad); and
  • Mr. Philip Seah of Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad
For the 2014/2015 term , LIAM’s Management Committee will also comprise Mr. Vincent Kwo (President) of Gibraltar BSN Life Berhad (formerly known as Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad), Mr. Loke Kah Meng of AXA AFFIN Life Insurance Berhad, YBhg. Dato Koh Yaw Hui of Great Eastern Life Assurance (M) Berhad, Mr. George Chew of Manulife Insurance Berhad and Mr. Toi See Jong of Tokio Marine Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd.
 
As we celebrate our 40 years of existence, LIAM continues to promote public understanding and appreciation of life insurance, as well as enhancing the professionalism of its staff and agents through continuous training and education.  In fulfilling the Government’s aspiration of insuring 75% of Malaysians by 2020, LIAM has been working very closely with the regulatory authorities and stakeholders in promoting and developing a healthy financial industry and continues to raise the standards of its services delivery to ensure customers’ satisfaction.
