Insurans Hayat Cares’ team celebrates Raya with children from three underprivileged homes - Media friends, insurance industry players join in the fun, bringing festive cheer to the underprivileged

Kuala Lumpur, 1 August 2016 - The Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) represented by its Insurans Hayat Cares team today brought festive cheer to about 90 children and their caretakers at the LIAM Raya gathering in Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur.
 
Headed by LIAM’s President, Mr. Toi See Jong and Industry Promotion Committee’s Chairman, Mr Ramzi Toubassy, the Insurans Hayat Cares team brought smiles to the faces of the children when they presented “Duit Raya” and goodie bags containing teddy bear coin boxes, stationaries, toiletries, towels, tumblers and cutlery sets to the children and their caretakers.
 
“It really touches our hearts to see the kids smiling and laughing as we present them the gift items. We feel privileged and honoured to be part of this noble initiative,” said Mr Toi.
 
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Principals and Caretakers of the 3 Homes namely Pusat Jagaan Suci Rohani Petaling Jaya, Rumah Anak – Anak Yatim Nur Hikmah Kajang and Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cornerstone Semenyih.   Your sacrifices and devotion to the care for these children goes a long way in nurturing them into fine, young adults one day,” he added.
 
LIAM through its Insurans Hayat Cares platform has been proactive in organising various community outreach programmes to bring us closer to the rakyat from all walks of life. Apart from our regular activities of blood donation drive, cancer awareness programme, visits to hospitals and children’s Homes, we are embarking on providing financial education to Malaysians.
 
Through the partnership with industry stakeholders, LIAM has held talks and activities with various organisations such as the Federation of Malaysian Consumers (FOMCA), Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) and Retirement Fund Inc (KWAP), Ministry of Health and Universities in Malaysia.
 
LIAM is currently collaborating with the Ministry of Higher Education, National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) and Malaysian Youth Community (MYC!)  to organise the largest social media video contest .  This year, the top 10 videos of the Youth Video Awards 2016 will be screened this month at the Grand Finale scheduled on 25th August 2016 in Sasana Kijang.
 
“We are reaching out to 180,000 young adults from 24 universities and colleges through roadshows and classroom engagement sessions.  These young Malaysians will be interacting with financial services as they graduate,” Mr Toi explained.
 
In-line with the dynamic growth and transformation of the life insurance industry, LIAM recently announced its Structured Internship Programme targeting the final year students in 20 public universities.
 
“Through this collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, we are reaching out to young talents to enrol in a 3-month internship with any of the 16 LIAM member companies commencing September this year,” he concluded.
