Life insurance industry celebrates Raya with children from four homes and media

Kuala Lumpur, 20 July 2017 - The Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) and its 16 member companies brought festive cheer to about 90 children and their caretakers from four underprivileged homes at the LIAM Raya gathering held yesterday in Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur.
 
The festive gathering which was also joined by friends from the media was part of LIAM’s yearly programme under the Insurans Hayat Cares’ community service platform.
 
Headed by LIAM’s President, Mr. Toi See Jong, the Insurans Hayat Cares team brought smiles to the faces of the children when they presented “Duit Raya” and goodie bags containing teddy bear, stationary set, notebook, sports bag, caps and water tumblers to the children and their caretakers.
 
“We are very excited to be given the opportunity to celebrate Raya with the children and their caretakers from the four homes. As a responsible corporate citizen, we are happy to be able to spend quality time with these children as we embrace the true spirit of caring, sharing and giving during this festive season,” said Mr Toi who presented the “Duit Raya” and goodie bags to the children.
 
The children and teenagers, age ranging from 6 to 17 years old from Pertubuhan Anak Yatim dan Kebajikan Darul Izzah Kajang, Rumah Bakti Al-Kausar Bandar Baru Bangi, Philea Home Kapar and Rumah KIDS Klang, were served with sumptuous Raya buffet spread and entertained with nostalgic Raya numbers by a 3-piece band, The Frontiers.
 
The audience also had a great time and enjoyed the dancing and singing performances put up by the young talents from the respective homes.
