PERLINDUNGAN TENANG VOUCHER (PTV 3.0) PROGRAMME: Over 1.9 million RM30 vouchers Still Waiting to be Redeemed

Eligible Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) Recipients Have Until 31 August 2026 to Redeem Their RM30 Voucher

Kuala Lumpur, 10 August 2026 – With less than a month remaining before the Perlindungan Tenang Voucher (PTV3.0) Programme ends, the insurance and takaful industry is urging all eligible Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients to redeem their RM30 voucher before the 31 August 2026 deadline and enjoy affordable financial protection for themselves and their loved ones.

The RM30 voucher helps eligible Malaysians purchase affordable Perlindungan Tenang insurance and takaful products that provide financial protection against unforeseen events such as death, accidents, fire and other unexpected incidents. It is a simple yet meaningful step towards protecting themselves and their loved ones from life’s uncertainties.

The PTV3.0 Programme is a public-private initiative by the Government of Malaysia in collaboration with the insurance and takaful industry. Announced under Budget 2025, the programme provides eligible STR recipients with RM30 financial assistance to partially cover the cost of purchasing Perlindungan Tenang insurance or takaful products.

By making basic protection more affordable, the programme supports the Government’s efforts to strengthen social protection, promote financial inclusion and encourage lower-income households to adopt a more proactive approach to managing financial risks.

Redeeming Your Voucher is Easy

Eligible STR recipients can redeem their voucher in a few simple steps:

  1. Check your eligibility via the PTV portal at www.myptv.my
  2. Explore available Perlindungan Tenang products at www.mycoverage.my, where participating insurers and takaful operators provide information on the features and benefits of their products. Select your preferred product and redeem your voucher online.
  3. Alternatively, you may walk into any branch of participating companies, takaful operators or authorised Perlindungan Tenang agents/distributors to check on your eligibility and redeem your RM30 voucher for the PTV product.

Since its launch on 1 September 2025, more than 1.9 million vouchers remain available under the programme, indicating that many eligible Malaysians have yet to take advantage of this opportunity.

With the redemption deadline fast approaching, eligible STR recipients are strongly encouraged to act now and not let their vouchers go to waste.  Besides providing access to affordable financial protection, every redeemed voucher represents a step towards strengthening the financial resilience of Malaysian families while supporting the nation’s aspiration to increase insurance and takaful penetration.

LIAM CEO, Mark O’Dell expressed his appreciation to the Government and the Ministry of Finance for their continued commitment to championing financial protection for Malaysians.

“We commend the Government and the Ministry of Finance for their continued efforts to improve access to affordable insurance and takaful protection for Malaysians. With only a few weeks remaining, we urge all eligible STR recipients not to let this opportunity slip away.  Redeem your RM30 voucher before 31 August 2026 and take an important step towards securing affordable protection for yourself and your loved ones.  Don’t wait until the last minute.”

According to Malaysian Takaful Association, Chief Executive Officer, Encik Mohd Radzuan Mohamed, “PTV 3.0 helps propel Malaysia’s protection agenda forward by encouraging greater awareness and uptake of financial protection among Malaysians. For the Takaful industry, initiatives such as this complement our ongoing efforts to encourage individuals and families to make protection an integral part of their financial planning and be better prepared for life’s uncertainties. This contributes towards stronger financial resilience among Malaysian households especially during challenging times.”

“Being employed does not necessarily mean we are fully protected from the financial consequences of an accident. An injury can result in medical expenses, time away from work and financial commitments that continue even when an individual is unable to work. Personal Accident protection is designed to provide benefits for accidental death, permanent disablement, and hospital cash allowances, among others, which can complement existing coverage.

Under this PTV3.0 programme, five Personal Accident products from PIAM member insurers are available to eligible STR recipients, offering a range of affordable protection options. We encourage all eligible recipients to redeem their RM30 voucher before 31 August 2026 and take a proactive step towards protecting themselves and their loved ones,” said PIAM CEO, Mr Chua Kim Soon.
