Wan Saifulrizal Wan Ismail is a distinguished leader and actuary with over 20 years of experience in the insurance and takaful industry, spanning regulatory, consulting and executive leadership roles.

Prior to joining AmMetLife, Wan served as Chief Executive Officer of Prudential BSN Takaful, where he played a pivotal role in sustaining the company’s market leadership. In prior roles, as Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Strategy Officer, he drove strategic transformation, product innovation, and digital advancements, including AI-powered applications and solutions that enhanced customer experience and operational efficiency.

Earlier in his career, Wan built a strong foundation in consulting and regulation. He was a Director at Towers Watson, where he led the firm’s Insurance Consulting practice, advising insurers on strategy, risk, and performance. He began his professional journey at Bank Negara Malaysia, serving as an actuary responsible for supervisory strategies, giving him a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry governance.

Beyond his corporate roles, Wan has been an active leader and advocate within the actuarial profession. A Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK), he served as President of the Actuarial Society of Malaysia (2015–2016), championing the development of actuarial talent and professional standards in Malaysia. He has also served as Chairman of the Malaysian Takaful Association, reflecting his standing and leadership within the industry. 

Wan is a strong proponent of financial inclusion, having spearheaded microtakaful initiatives aimed at providing affordable and accessible protection to underserved and low-income communities.
