LIAM and Kumpulan Utusan celebrate Raya with underprivileged children

The Insurans Hayat Cares Team headed by the President of Life Insurance Association of Malaysia, Mr Toi See Jong brought Raya cheer to about 80 children from Rumah Penyayang Nur Iman, Rumah HOPE and orphanages from Sekolah Kebangsaan TUDM at the headquarters of Kumpulan Utusan recently.  The children were brought to Utusan headquarters for a Raya celebration with the Insurans Hayat Cares team and Utusan staff and were entertained with the famous Upin and Ipin mascots.

The children and teenagers, aged ranging from 1 to 17 years old were having so much fun when Upin & Ipin, dressed in Baju Melayu performed nostalgic Hari Raya numbers on stage and took the opportunity to have their photo taken with the famous mascots.   

“We are honoured to be given this opportunity to organise a Raya Gathering with the children and their caretakers as well as the staff of Kumpulan Utusan. It is part of our responsibility as a corporate citizen in promoting the spirit of caring, sharing and giving during this festive season,” said Mr Toi who presented goodie bags to the children at the gathering.

The homes were also presented with donations in kind consisting of groceries and household items.  The children and their caretakers were served with a sumptuous buffet spread and presented with goodie bags with loads of items including teddy bears, coin boxes, stationaries, tumblers and Upin and Ipin merchandises to take home.

The Insurans Hayat Cares team was also taken for a tour to the various sections of Utusan Malaysia and Kosmo newspapers, accompanied by the Deputy Editor in Chief of Kumpulan Utusan, YBhg. Datuk Othman Mohamad, Editor Utusan Malaysia, Dato’ Hassan Mohd Noor, Kosmo Sunday Editor, Wan Hasnan Wan Hassan and other senior Kumpulan Utusan officials.
